I just dumped a K20a into an NA Miata. Then I got bored with that so I upgraded to a VQ37. Then that got old so I put a 26B into it. Then, just for some flavor, I put the LS1 into it.
This game is pretty okay.

On the GT5 Oppo party tonight we raced karts on the Nurburgring at night in the rain. What's that like in Forza 5?
Oh wait, you can't do any of that. Sorry.

Did they finally lighten up on that stuff? They used to only let you dump engines from the same parent company.
I still want to see super efficiency races with tiny engines in supercars.

What? Cross-family engine swaps? Holy shit.
I really wish I had an xBox One, I have the collector's edition just taunting me.

Yeah. That's probably my favorite thing they added. They don't call the engines by their names but car ppl know what they are.

Oh damn! Because of this feature it'll be hard for me to resist a new console. I loved putting and NSX engine in a 80's Civic in Horizon, so why not in FM5?

Wow, I'm really impressed that they added this. I always wished you could do this in Forza 3 and 4.

Man, this just makes me want the game more

It's very light on content compared to forza 4 though, particularly the number of tracks. That said I feel like the physics have once again taken a leap forward.

Then you'll love putting the Audi V10 and 458 V8 in an NSX.

:((((
srsly though, I've had the game for like 50 hours so far and I'm already feeling the lack of content. There's no dragstrips, the big drift tracks are gone, and they don't have Nurburg and Suzuka. This game is great once you're driving, but it's such a bummer every other minute because you're starkly aware that this game needed more time.

Yeah. The Nurb is my favorite track, and in GT I'm on it at least once every time I play. F5 is fun I'm sure, but the variety in GT makes it so replayable I'm not bored after having it for years.

I'm not bored with FM4 either, because 4 is so feature rich. The physics model in 5 feels way better than GT5 or FM4, but like I said, once you're off the track the game breaks down quickly.

So now they let you do "generic" engine swaps, which are generic in name only. They're all based on some real world engine. It's still only performance upgrades though. Example: in a 2005 NSX-R, you can swap in the Lamborghini/Audi V10 or the Ferrari 458's V8.
